Hi all..
Having viewed many profiles like a weirdo I can't help thinking the term athletic is being pushed to it's limits.
And I'm talking about male, female and ts...
And yes I've got little old me down as athletic, but only after seeing so many athletic people on FS I thought fuck it, if you are? I must be! Lol
I'll leave it in your hands beautiful people x |

Professional sports people are generally classed as athletic, its an assumption that most of us make. Ten Pin bowling and darts are classed as a sport - I am therefore considering myself as athletic....

Difficult.... The front row of the English rugby team ate undoubtedly very fit... But do they look athletic... I'd say no. It's the fabulous classification I find even more difficult to come to terms with... From what we have seen on the site they could often be classed as morbidly obese?? |

We also wonder about this. If we find a person attractive it doesn't matter what size they are.
Wonder what it is that they see in the mirror? I suppose it depends whether they realise that it's supposed to be a description of your body type...
We can walk up bloody big hills easily without being knackered. Does that means we can start calling ourselves athletic?! I think not! |

I put Athletic because Im very proud of the body I have acheived at my age. I have a firm bum, thighs and legs. Very little tummy and no flab on torso. I go to the gym 4 times a werk. Do Spinfit, walking, gym and swimming.
So yes Athletic. Dont take my word just check my pics |

Everyone's interpretation as to what constitutes athletic will differ. I pay little attention to the description, people can describe themselves as they see fit. A photo tells me everything I need to know. |

How people grade their body shapes on this doesn't really bother us as we feel that the photos give a better picture. It would bother us if we could filter profile searches for athletes and didn't quite get the search results we would have hoped for . |

One of the most amusing aspects of this thread, whenever it crops up (and I've seen it a few times) is just how emotional people seem to get about the whole thing.
Surely you wouldn't meet someone you've never seen a picture of anyway, so the description is kind of moot.
PS - to win this thread, you need to say "Mo Farrah". Thanks in advance. |

They can put anything they like, but if they put athletic and their pics show they're too big to get off the sofa then I know they're not athletic. |

Haha yeah. Put to be fair I have met a girl before who put slim on a dating website. I don't know how she did it but she looked slim from the pics I met her and was safe to say she was far from slim and the pics wasn't old pics. Just to clarify I don't mind a bigger girl tho. |

Athletic is a subjective term. Some athletes are big prop forwards. Some are little jockeys. I consider myself to be athletic because I dont think im a chubster, i aint a thin lad, but i play a lot of sport and can lift weights like nobodies business. Just because somebody has no 6 pack doesnt mean they arent athletic |

I'm athletic but i have a typical marathon runners build so would never use the term athletic on here. I settle for slim as I don't carry many extra pounds.
Athletic is a ridiculously broad and vague term |

And there lies the problem with labelling people a certain way, everyone has differing opinions of what constitutes athletic or whatever. Describe yourself as you see fit. |

Apparently not, given that on a weekly basis there's someone starting a thread complaining about th descriptions people have chosen for themselves. |

I think its more to do with the honesty part.
Are people being honest with themselves and others?
Because when people are looking for a certain type of person/couple and have a human shopping tick list
They don't want misrepresentation of the goods as its against their Human trade description act.

My point was I don't even look at the description, because my idea of athletic won't be the same as another person's idea of athletic. So there's no dishonesty and no misrepresentation, just people getting their knickers in a twist because they think someone is too fat to call themselves whatever. Really, who gives a fuck - look at the photos. |

I just look at the photos. As far as I'm aware, you cannot search by body type (unless its changed recently) so its pretty irrelavent having it anyway in that respect. |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
It is one of the features that could be changed, as body type is so subjective. If there are no pics on the profile you really are at the mercy of what people think they are, not what they actually are. However no-one can be forced to do something if they don't want to, and putting 'average' is a bit of a cop out.
It's a difficult one to manage to the satisfaction of all. |

The categorisations are tricky.
I'm a size 10 but with big boobs and big hips, so a classic hourglass shape.
So I've put myself as curvy, but that then gets interpreted as a nice way of saying chubby, but I don't think any of the other categories describe me as well as curvy does.
On that basis, I ignore the categories and go straight to the pics

It's a bit of blind date really; init? Most pics ain't exactly true reflections of especially faces never mind body.
So my profile will continue to read 'athletic'. It's up to people when we meet what they make of me.
I guarantee once the sex & social meet is great & fulfilling; athletic, fab or whatever will be the last thing on their minds.
Unless they're looking for a proper date in which case 'keeping up appearances' will be a a requirement.
