Guy who has flirted around the scene for a long time attended a few socials and finally ready to hit the scene as it were!

your veris are good, and show that you are good at socialising, so that should help.
don't know how you get any further as i've had no trouble with that.

It's the age old tarred with the same brush I believe lot of rude pushy single guys, try be be polite and be ignored as its not eye catching haha |

Nope.
Polite stand out more because of the crap guys.
It is likely because you're young and not well known on the scene. |

That's why I started by attending a fair few of the socials with no playing element, just to meet a few faces and show my own, hopefully down the line it will pay off, but it is rather frustrating but such is life! Hah |
