"I squat in the smith machine
You big tart! lol yes and as well, it is safer too
Is it?" Yes, cos the machine controls the weight so you don't fall forward or back. |

Never fallen forward or back before. I find having a strong back and choosing a decent stance stops that from happening. |

Ok so, squatting varies depending on individual people. They tend to say the perfect squat derives from men with power bellies as It acts as a counter balance. I'm a 6ft 2, 25stone bloke. I have a 310kg back squat and have never ever fallen back. The smith machine I think is false because come on who is gunna squat at at 30degree angle?!
And yes I stole your thread idea, I just wanted it to carry on, I like all these women swooning over a beefy bloke like myself aha |

Doesn't squatting with a barbell free weight activate more muscles than a smiths machine cos you're trying to keep your balance more that way?
What do I know |

Pretty much bang on the money. Which in turn gives carry over strength to deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press and many other major compound lifts. As well as an increase in overall athletic ability and can also help sort out postural problems. |

I went to this new gym class, all full of squatting and lunges challenges, never again, had broken legs for about 3 days. Couldn't wear my heels out at the weekend. |
