To answer your question, yes honesty is the best policy - at least in terms of your profile (see, I did read it)
Unless you're very believable at lying, being dishonest or not disclosing something important will eventually be found out. Most of us males can't pull it off for very long.
Your circumstances will restrict your opportunities, as you've guessed, but I think being dishonest about it would be even more detrimental. |

i would remove your angry post - we all know its hard on here for single guys and your note there wont endear you to anyone or help you meet people
i feel sorry for the guys - to be honest sometimes i think why do single guys bother as the pub must be an easier place to meet women - luckily for me im not a bloke
my single friends also tell me a body pic or face pic works wonders xxx good luck

Swapping 'site' for 'sight' wouldnt do any harm.
Writers must be the most fastidious of chefs. Each word should be stripped and weighed before being tossed into the stew of language.

All I will say that after reading the profile, it is an interesting, yet ironic use of the word "honesty".....
people will know and understand what I mean, and I'll leave it at that..... |

oh Rob you were almost there and then wham! right at the last moment you responded -
with your type of invitation for advice you are always going to hear more than you want to
the trick here is to take from it the bits you find useful and not respond to anything else
otherwise you will fall into the pit of singlemen - and apparently is dark and damp down there
take care now and back off a little from the thread now
xxx |

I believe you should be honest on your profile yes.
The only problem is you will be damned if you do and damned if you don't as has been shown.
I think if you are honest with the people you are trying to meet, then at least they have a choice with all the information....it shouldn't really concern the people who don't want to meet you. |

Ok, have read your profile and yes, honesty is the best policy. I'd far rather know the truth about who I'm meeting than find out something I don't like later (we only meet genuine couples so have been a bit annoyed to find out after lots of messaging that the 'couple' I've been talking to are just fbs and are both in separate relationships - my personal rule is that I don't want to be part of something that the wife/girlfriend doesn't know about).
One thing that occurred to me from your profile is that it almost reads as though you're looking for a relationship - the friendship bit is something I'd expect from either a couple or someone not in a relationship, but having said that - far better to be honest. |

Honest with your profile = good - honest with your partner = much better |
