Any suggestions as to the easiest way to get a room, or total privacy for a few hours during the day.
Even when booking a room for the night, getting access to the room by mid-day seems to such a hassle.
And at this time of the year, lay-byes and farm roads become less attractive.

As an experienced manager within the hotel industry, "day-let rooms" are simply down to availability, especially considering their occupancy levels the night before.
If the hotel was full the night before, the immediate availability of rooms first thing in the morning will be greatly diminished. Most hotels will accommodate a Day Room booking request, but as many hotels these days have Housekeeping personnel on duty only for certain time periods during the day, then to have a day-let room become unavailable for re-use that evening by other paying guests, can be a nuisance factor that some companies won't entertain.
In some companies, you can have the day let room, if you pay for it from the previous evening.
Try the Hotel booking websites; some have arrangements with hotel groups and can offer you bookings at very good rates. |
