Hahaha. Seri ously, as a man, I've disappointed thinking I had satisfied. I wish I could make up those failures.
However, I have already paid the Fortune forward to others. Simple pleasures can also be wholesome when perspective is a factor, No?

I think he's saying that in the past he has failed to deliver satisfaction though at the time believed he had succeeded. He has also on occasion been successful.
