Hi all were Angel & Superman...we were on here for nearly 3 years before my partner had a severe stroke 2 years ago 17 weeks pregnant....she has had to learn to walk and talk again and reuse all her right side again... as well as that she lost 20 years of memory that hasn't returned..that means not knowing who i am imagine that your other half thinking your a complete stranger..it tore our world apart...she's made great improvements and obviously we talked about this along the way as it was something we did before the stroke..with many meets..mfmf ..mff & mmf ...ddogging ...chameleons a few times...so wanted to look into starting if again and see how it goes...we stated we needed patience and time and friendships with none pushy understanding people along the way which the majority have been...unfortunately the last few days have had many messages calling us fake and timewasters which we obviously are not...we would just like to say we dont agree with bully tactics to try and get a meet ...we are GENUINE 100% thanks to the kind people we have spoken too so far long may it continue...sorry for the rant just that we needed to put some people on this site straight.....Angel &Superman .xx  |

Welcome back! It's important for everyone to go through life at their own pace, and especially in swinging, for the two of you, since your partner's experience. You're not timewasting, merely wanting to ensure that everyone is right, and that the experience is as good as it can be for everyone. If anyone insults you etc, then report them.
As for your partner, recovery after a stroke can continue for many years, and it's worth looking out for whatever will help this continue, as it already seems to have done. Some experts talk about certain windows of opportunity, when things largely improve, but this is increasingly looking outdated - so I'd recommend not accepting anyone placing limits or barriers to what is possible (we are all unique, and respond differently after trauma). I work with people in this area, so have good first hand experience.
Glad that you both have each other to care for you, respectively. Do your best to filter out those who aren't decent caring people - there are many wonderful fab people around.  |
