Being straight maybe I am not the person to answer this correctly but I believe that someone who is bisexual will actively play with females as with males.
As such, a bisexual person has decided that both sexes, male and female are of sexual interest and as such will actively play with both, possibly in a threesome or as one to one, ie, MM or FF.
Someone who is 'curious' is by definition just that, I surmise that they haven't quite explored their feelings towards those of their sex to completion yet and are thus still on their journey.
Personally - and this is not meant with any insult - I believe some folk possibly sit on the fence in order to still stand a chance of getting a meet with couples who have someone of their sex within the couple that is straight whilst also holding the door open to bisexual meets another time.
For example, Barney classes himself as 'curious' and wants to meet with Fred and Wilma as he really fancies Wilma. With Fred being straight, Barney hopes that by explaining he is 'mentally wondering' about it, Fred might still let him in.
The fact that Barney actually went the full length with John the other night, well, he doesn't quite want to tell Fred that and after all... he is still "only experimenting"....
As I say, I don't want to put anyone down, it's just from experience I have been a bit annoyed at 'straight' men meeting up with me for a threesome with the wife, only to find him trying to get up my butt whilst I was in full flow with the wife...
Why do that? You could argue it was a sudden and impulsive urge....but c'mon ..
The above scenario is slightly off on a tangent from your question, I know. That is more along the lines of not being honest, however it highlights the pissible stigma attached to bisexuality that seems to prevail, hence some men (especially) will hide it at first but then try it on...
I have no issue with a man being bisexual, or 'curious', it's just not for me. As such, live and let live, just say you are bisexual but are prepared to play straight in the threesome. Many bisexuals or 'curious' men will of course do just that, fine by me.
