Come on guys - we're all here for fun and if other people want to do something that you either don't like or disagree with thats no reason to give them stick - We don't do bare back but if others do then thats their choice - they must know the risks etc....... |

If there is an open cut in the mouth, gum problems that cause bleeding there is a minor chance of infection. Read an interesting account in a book called blood sweat and tea. Written by a paramedic. he got a mouthful of blood coughed up by a HIV+ TB sufferer. Interestingly he was counselled that the chance of infection was pretty remote. His subsequent test was clear. I think safe sex in a swinging situation is a must. I do wonder about the HIV/AIDS issue though. If it is a plague then here's a thought. How many people in your circle of aquaintance have been affected by cancer in some way? That's a plague. Now how many have been affected by HIV/AID my guess is that unless you are African or an intravenous drug uses the answer is probably none. I believe condoms do stop me catching STDs but I dont think they save my life. |

Well I will say that out of all the meets I've had on here there have only been a couple who would have insisted on condoms if I'd been happy to play bareback - little bit scarey I think and made me even more determined never to take the risk !!! |

You said it not me, I was trying to make a point about the prevalence of HIV/AIDs. I can't seriously believe you are denying there is a HIV/AIDs epidemic in sub saharan africa. |

To be fair _habs, dont think that was aimed at africans in general, just that the HIV rates in some of the african areas are horrendous, shagging like rabbits, bad sexual health information and lack of condoms. Such a pity for them, they are killing themselves and their race and many are completly ignorant to it.

Don't misunderstand - I'm not for once suggesting or denying this, I'm however wondering if you're suggesting those are the ONLY hot spots to be wary of, ie "as long as you don't play wit africans, or anyone that indulges with intravenuous drug abuse, then you'll be fine - unprotected or otherwise" |

It sounded like it tho, singling out one community or population solely for locality, its like saying "Gay people are more susceptible to aids". That may have been true in the 80's, but in this day and age the fact is no one is safe. |

I wasn't saying any group was more likely to present a greater risk. Did you try the test I proposed? I have been in the swinging scene for 10 years and I dont know or know of anybody with HIV or AIDs. A Botswanan work colleague would give a different answer.
I think attributing their problem to africans sexual intemperence is a bit
unfair. There have been some papers by quite eminent doctors proposing that HIV may in the main not be sexually transmitted at all. They maintain that it is passed on by poor hygene practices by badly trained under resourced medic.
That said I always use condoms, especially if I am told I dont have to if I dont want to |

Not sure about those papers. There are people out there pushing Vitamic C as a treatment for HIV as well as sleeping with virgins (no seriously). Regardless HIV isn't the only dangerous STD out there. |

Agree here, personal choice and honesty with it, for us it means welcome to our infamous block list for any couples who go on his friends list or verify him but we are greatfull for the chance to know who to avoid and hope that those playing bareback with like minded people have a great time. |

When we first got into swinging 5 years ago safe sex was always assumed. It does seem more and more people are into barebacking, and they are very subtle about it. Kind of sinister. |
