Do women like beards & Dad bods?
Jump to: Newest in thread
A lot of ladies & couples profiles state they like their men slim & clean shaven.,,
I’ve not been clean shaven since I was like, 15, so not sure I could brave the shave...
Who out there likes their men a bit more rugged? |

I don't mind some stubble or a well trimmed beared. But if it's longer than my hair, or if you could actually plait it, then it's an absolute no no.
Dad bodies- not a problem. I actually prefer men with some meat on their bones as I'm worried I might accidentally snap the more skinny ones.

For me it’s always about the man and his personality. A beard is nice, and clean shaven is fine. I’m less keen on stubble, because it can give me a rash. In terms of body, I feel more or less the same, and would never expect any guy to fit in around my personal preferences. Although if someone is a gym obsessive it’s likely to mean that we won’t get on regardless of how fit he is. |

Well that’s handy to know, everyone has their own taste - I like busty brunettes - just pretty much every profile I’ve seen has listed clean shaven as a preference.
Maybe I need to search more..... |

"I prefer the rugged look and a dad bod "
I think I'll start using "rugged" to describe myself... Sounds manly, dependable, likely to bring ladies to orgasm just by firmly staring at them and saying "Now" in a quiet, calmed toner.... |

I have noticed an uptick in anti-beard sentiment on here in recent years.
Mine runs the gamut from stubble to "playoff Joe Thornton" depending on laziness! |

Generally not a fan of beards or dad bods. But it does depend on the individual. I have been attracted to a few guys with beards, and a few guys that don’t necessarily have typically athletic bodies.

I think the term Dad Bod can often be misused.
I often feel it should be reserved for Dads like me however all too often it gets thrown about by otherwise gym fit men who as a result of fathering their first child have put on half a stone round there middle and had to have a Burger King for lunch one time last week because wifey didn’t have the time to make them their salmon and asparagus salad. |

Love a beard and a dad bod. Actually find "skinny" and "ripped/gym bunny" to be less attractive. Feel like I'd crush a skinny lad, and the gym bunny thing is just a bit intimidating when I've got more than a few extra lbs?
Always loved beards, and long hair, yes please. The clean shaven head to toe bit confused me - why do adults want their partners to look like young teens?
Each to their own and all that! And far more interested in someone that has at least half a brain and can hold a conversation even if their appearance isn't my ideal. |

My mr is what I would class as a proper man. Beard. Dad bod with muscle. But each to their own. What one likes another might not. I’m slim and petite and that is what he likes. Other men likes lady’s who are more curvy. |

How about a grandad bod? I have been cultivating mine for a couple of decades, rather like a fine wine I would hope. I am a little confused as to what actually a dad bod is. Mrs likes it whatever label is used to describe it lol. |

Good point.
What, exactly is a dad bod? I'm a dad, do I have one? |

Shouldn't this be based on what an individual feels comfortable with and not how a person should present themselves so it fit their criteria. Should people change how they look because it's something others like, but doesn't make the individual feel comfortable with. |

I keep myself trim and (reasonably) fit - no belly, no love handles.. I still don't know if I have a dad bod... |

I can see why guys complain about women's profile after reading that disaster.
What's to say someone with a dad bod doesn't work hard and go to the gym? What if they like having a dad bod? I'm a size 22 doesn't mean I don't look after myself. But surely it's about someone's confidence and how they feel about themselves? It's not about an ignorant statement like that. |

This thread has made me (Mr) smile reading the replies. It seems dad bods are more popular than beards.
Good job nothing is permanent.
When I last went into the office 15 months ago I fluctuated every few months from shaved to trimmed beard and weighed 14 stone of dad bodness.
This year I've am down to a smidge over 11 stone and moving towards "athletic" or "gym fit" as a descriptor.
But my beard? Well I haven't trimmed any length since that last day so I now look like Ragnarr Loðbrók about to sail to the west. This is not unwelcomed by my shieldmaden - but that's for another thread!
Next week might be different again. I just enjoy being who I am and knowing that no matter how I look, some will like it and some won't. I'm still me and my personality has been far more decisive in terms of sparking with people throughout my life than my looks at any given time. |

As a man with a full beard I am always looking for someone that loves beards. a lot of people don't like them for some reason (something about looking scruffy, or dirty, or both) but it takes a lot more effort to maintain a beard than to be clean shaven. You can tell the difference between a clean beard and a dirty beard, the same as you can with head hair. |

Yes that’s my exact MO. Dad bod with a sculpted beard, short but tidy. I seem to do alright. If I suck in you can see a six pack, but I’m past that age now, it is what it is and let it hang out. |

Dad bod and a beard over here.
Also a great conversationist, and very funny. Probably the funniest person I know with my name living at my address!
I love chatting and getting to know people,
Face pics occasionally on my public profile, but always available to my friends list or via message

Hadn’t seen this thread before now so had missed this gem of a beard reference, perfect mental image!
I admire the muscly 8 pack type, but would be very unlikely to even try for one at Chams.
Give me a guy who I won’t worry about breaking so I can properly enjoy myself! |
