This is mainly for any dominant woman living in the North east area, "i don't mind if you just send a wink my way"
Does anyone else care if someone winks at them? I know some view it as lazy or rude, but i don't, thoughts? |

We never send a message in the first instance as we tend to be a tad shy and inactive not proactive so just delete winks and friends requests and put this in our profile which of course 99.9% don’t read but we do reply to all messages.
That’s just our approach to fab and it works for us.

I wink a lot and like to get winks. If I wink back then I hope they will then message,
Women and couples get so many messages in a day it’s easier to let them message first so we can start a dialogue. I have face pics on my friends photos, and always send the with my messages! |

I see it like this. The wink function is there to use, so use it in any way you see fit. If people have a problem with simply being winked at, then it's exactly that - their problem, not yours. |

I think it's OK. Why not? Gets a bit people going on about it being rude.... They didn't read our profile blah blah... Its just an acknowledgement someone likes the look of you not a marriage proposal.... I'm pro winks |

"I take a wink as a compliment but I dont respond to them with a message. I feel that if the guy sending me the wink wanted to start a conversation then he would send me a message. "
I understand your point, but would you actually see and read the message or woupd it get lost in the ocean of other messages?
Personally is be happy to get winks. I seem to get plenty of profile views, but never anything off the back of that and it's a touch demoralising |

Yes I would see and read the message. I always check out a profile before I reply. If I can see from the profile that I wouldn't meet him or if I can tell from the first message then I send a generic thanks but no thanks message explaining that they're not what I'm looking for. I'm not sure how a wink would be any different. Dont get me wrong, a wink is a nice compliment but it doesnt necessarily mean because a guy has winked at me that I'm going to send him a message. |

It’s a facility of the site so why do some find it rude and lazy ? Jesus some people on here should chill a bit more and get off their egotistical horse... I find them a compliment.. and use em... |

We are always happy to receive winks, we send them too. We see them as a way of testing the waters. It’s still exciting if a profile returns a wink we’ve sent.
Why some people on here are so snobbish about them is a mystery. Each to their own.... |

Winkings not really an enthusiastic way of expressing interest.
On the flip side, sending a wink & not getting a reply saved you the effort of writing a detailed msg
Also, there are likely 100 plus single men for every woman/couple on here so winking may not be your best play, especially if you're a man. |

Wish people would use it more often. It takes a lot of the stress and uncertainty out of the early part of the interaction, less of the annoyance you get if you write a nice opener that gets ignored etc etc. |

If I wink at you and you wink back, I send you a message. If not, I don't bother wasting your time. It's a bit like real life, I tend to only open a conversation with someone once I've made eye contact with them and ascertained if they're open to being spoken to. Just seems politer to me than just going in all guns blazing, so to speak... |

I like winks, don't see why people dismiss them so quickly, nice ice breaker same as if you smile at someone in a bar.
Read no reply is most frustrating situation. I'd like there to be an option where it says reply or delete and you have to pick one. Even if your waiting to chat to partner later, I'd rather people just say that in a response, I'd completely understand. And if they don't like you, you just press delete, same as pressing back button, no extra click required. I get some people get hundreds of messages but a delete button prompt would keep your inbox tidy and also decrease likelihood of sender contacting again to some degree. This is my opinion anyway. |
