Am I right in thinking that if someone sends you a friend request and you don't delete it, they are unable to send another?

Thank you. I never delete them yet I'm finding that a year later people are able to send them again

My understanding is that they sort of fall off the end after so long.

As if there's a limit to the number of requests one can ignore.

Yes that seems to be the case.

People who have sent one (a long time ) in the past are able to send one again.

I think the new one supersedes the last one its not a big issue is it just ignore them or block the sender if its that much of a problem.
