Is there a way to read past messages that haven't been saved...I was talking to someone a few weeks ago and want to look at our messages again...

I believe if neither of you have deleted the messages, but they are too far back to be able to scroll too, if one of you sends the other a new message and you are in the new chat it will show up in the string.
