Is it possible to take back a message or have we been hacked?

Hi all

Yesterday whilst browsing we noticed a new message in our inbox. With kids milling about etc we didn’t open it or reply to it. So, this morning we went to our inbox to find that particular message gone. It wasn’t in the inbox, hadn’t been replied to etc. It was nowhere to be seen??

Any ideas?

The sender could have been banned or left the site, all mail goes if this happens
