Disappearing Messages

Can somebody please tell me why messages keep disappearing from our profile ?

Usual reasons include:

1] Sender has left the site;

2] Server clearances have taken out any older messages that have not been saved [by Site Supporters];

3] Accidentally hitting the 'Delete' button instead of the 'Save' or 'Mark Unread' Buttons.
