Deleting photos

Can anybody help.

I have a few pictures on my profile, set to private st the moment.

I wanted to delete them and despite the red x which should delete them it doesn’t. Nothing changes when I press it and I can’t get rid of them?

I am using an iPhone XS and everything else works fine.

Am I missing something? Any advice or help will be very gratefully received.

Thanks for this but yes I have.

The button to delete seems to not be active and so saving doesn’t actually make any changes

Try doing it on the desktop version

That worked as expected and I deleted my old pictures.
