Can admins read pm's?

A friend of mine got a forum ban yesterday.
He is confused as he is already serving a forum ban and hasn't posted on the forums in months, preferring to keep their head down.
However he was chatting with someone via pm and named names of people he avoids so that he doesn't get in trouble. Then the ban came!
He didn't name names in a forum, so he now thinks that admins screen pm's?
Can anyone throw any light on this? |

Hmm, I don't know if they're meant to read them just for the fuck of it, but I know they can because they'll read abusive messages if they're reported. |

Maybe he said something in a forum a while ago but it got reported/picked up only now? Some really old threads keep resurfacing all the time.

Forum Mod O o O oo |
Admin don't read mails. A person wouldn't be banned on the forum for something they put in mail.... they would only be banned for something they have written on the forum
Instead of starting threads like this the best thing your friend can do is ask Admin from the contact button to review a ban |
