Well there are a couple of approaches here
If you send a Wink, it shows you have an interest and if the person winks back, it would be down to you to start a conversation.
Others like us, see Winks as a bit of a nonentity and believe if someone was that interest they would send a message (therefore we ignore them, especially as we have referenced that in our profile). |

They are a shortcut for lazy people who can't be arsed to send messages. |
