"You disable the GPS for the site by not letting fab use your location if your on a mobile
Without sounding thick, how do I do that?"
On a mobile on the mobile site go to home. Top left will say who's near on tap it then you can turn it off on the next page |

Use the mobile site, next to see who’s near on the left says who’s near ON. Click on that, on the next page you can turn it off.
If it’s off you won’t see who is near you either, it’ll estimate based on your profile postcode |

"I’ve done that but it’s still showing! "
"As I understand it:
There are 2 possible distances given:
The 1st is the distance from their (possibly inaccurate on grounds of anonymity) postcode to your (possibly inaccurate) postcode
Distance:
60+ miles away
(80+ driving)
The 2nd is only shown if they are on their mobile with Who's Near switched on
Right now:
They are on mobile, 60+ miles away
I presume this is the distance from their phone's location to your postcode, unless you also have Who's Near on, in which case it would be the distance between the 2 phones."
Looking just now, only the 1st distance is showing. If you're concerned about that, change the postcode on your profile to one a bit further away from home. |
