How can you be friends on your own profile?

I've just found a profile where they are on their own friends list as friends... identical profile n username!! confused...Why? and How? is it just a glitch or what?

If you look at your own profile you can invite yourself as a friend

Don't know why you would want to though but I have seen lots of profiles that have done it

Ive added myself to friends list even sent myself a message as well, not deliberatly. Think a few have done this by mistake. Im just waitin for the day I block myself
