Tried leaving a club review for Chams, where we went last night. We do this partly to provide feedback to the club, and partly to allow people who met us get in touch.
This time though, it tells me I can't because I can only post a club review once every 7 days.
I don't recall coming up against this before, and am sure I've left several reviews when attending a club on different days in the same week, although can't be sure.
But it's certainly 7 days since my last review (last attended 31/12 which is 7 days ago, but left that review before this time of day).
I'm sure when the calendar clicks to tomorrow it will allow me to leave the review, but if this is a new rule or a function that has just started working, it is a *really* bad idea, as it means that if you go to a club on consecutive weeks (say, Saturdays), you can't leave consecutive reviews on Sundays, as it will fall foul of this 7 day rule.
Don't really see why it has to be in place anyway. 1 per day would be more appropriate, as then people can leave reviews of different nights - which is quite critical for people looking to attend on different days by providing valuable feedback. |

Update : As expected, it allowed me to post as soon as midnight happened.
This really is a bad policy though. It stops people commenting on different (theme) nights in the same week at the same venue, and also commenting if attending the same night two weeks in a row.
For example...
Thurs attend party night. Leave club review on Friday
Sat attend couples night. Not allowed to leave club review on Sunday.
Next week...
Sat attend couples night. Leave club review on Sunday
And the next...
Sat attend couples night. Not allowed to leave club review on Sunday as not '7 days', so leave on Monday
And the next....
Sat attend couples night. Not allowed to leave club review on Sunday or Monday as 'not 7 days', so leave on Tuesday - or don't leave at all.
We use the club reviews to see what people say about different nights at a club when deciding to visit.
We use the club reviews to highlight any problems or observations that we may have, for the organisers/club owners (who do read them)
We use the club reviews to allow people we met socially to get in touch.
If there is a hard 7 day rule then it makes all the above less likely to work.
Sorry to sound moany |

"Leave a review on the club’s website "
That is what the OP tried to do. But you can't post more than one a week.
That's how it's always been. Just write about the events you have been to once a week. Surely one review a week for the same club is sufficient |

Yes and no. Yes, from informing others about the different events, No, for the other reasons we find the club review section of the site useful.
Put it another way, when meeting people in a club we can rarely remember fab usernames. By saying 'check the club reviews', they can get in touch (if they want) after the night, and likewise I spot people posting reviews who I met and keep in touch with that way.
I know it's an 'off prescription' use of the system, but it works really well. If you could historically view 'Club Meet' information we wouldn't use this method, but you can't so we do
And we tend to only heavily use fab around club nights anyway. Ie. if we are not playing for a few weeks, we rarely log on but will check the day after a club night to see if anyone we know posted a review. So, waiting a week is sub-optimal from that perspective.
Frankly, I didn't realise it was a long standing thing. I can't believe we have never come across this before, but perhaps we have and I didn't realise, it was a crappy night so didn't feel like posting a review or was busy or something....
Anyway, if it's a long standing rule then there's nothing to see there. But can I ask that the admin consider a shorter timeframe, just to avoid the problem whereby going on consecutive weekends prevents consecutive reviews (ie. a 7 day rule, means you can only post after 8 days), the next time these things are considered? |
