Like many, we had cam troubles in the chat rooms that were ultimately fixed. However now there appears to be the same problem with Flash in Chrome with Windows 10. Sadly the suggested link:
chrome://flags/#prefer-html-over-flash
no longer provides the option to disable.
Has anyone else encountered this and how do we fix it??
Thank you for any assistance. |

Well done and thank you. It worked! Have to say that a pay site relying on their customers to solve their technical problems is really not on. We have been gold members for quite a few years, it is unlikely to continue |

We have the same issue as of last Friday and don't want to use IE as it's a hotbed of bugs and virus'.
Would hope that Fab get this resolved as IE uses are becoming as rare as hens teeth |

Anyone having problems with cam on google chrome
The new advice is:
Click the jigsaw icon at the top right of the address bar, and select "run flash plugin", after loading chat.

Okey dokey, peeps.
Don't try to broadcast a cam on your phone, it can't work.
For those that can be bothered, give this a try:
Make sure that your webcam is plugged in and working. It's obvious but devices don't always load properly first time. You can test the camera in Skype or with a camera viewer (I'm not digressing into software here).
Make sure that your microphone is plugged in and working.
IMPORTANT! Even if you don't want to broadcast sound and have no need of it, the website assumes that you must have a camera and microphone and that both will be plugged in. If they aren't both in and working the camera will not start.
Go to Chromes'menu (usually top right corner) and select 'Help' then 'About'. Chrome should automatically update itself from here. If it doesn't, there should be a button to check for updates.
Type "chrome://components" into the address bar (without the quotation marks) and press enter. Look in the list that pops up and find "Adobe Flash Player" or similar. It is there unless you're on your phone. Check for updates by pressing the button here too.
Restart Chrome.
Reload the Fab chat room web page. You should be able to start your cam from here now. Make sure you allow it permission when the box pops up.
Fingers crossed. |

Not when we're talking about using Chrome, they wouldn't. |

Press 'Update' button for Adobe Flash and guess what - message 'Component not updated'. No-way is Google going to allow you to use flash!! This is really a concerted effort by the browser authors to get rid of Flash and have developers replace it with HTML5. |

It says "Not updated" when you already have the latest version. At the moment the latest version is 27.0.0.170
If that's what you've already got then that'll be why. |
