Banned from chat - how long for?

Hulloooo.
So last week in chat I briefly mentioned a topic I shouldn't have, an admin told us to change the subject, so we did, and 5 minutes later I'm booted out and can't return.. does anyone know how long the ban lasts for? It's been roughly a week, I was under the impression it didn't last that long.
