At least I hope not

"People on my block list can see pics I upload and status updates (via local search & new pics) "

We have noticed in at least TWO cases that persistent users who we blocked for privacy were then able to view us again at least once after . . it seems that if a user makes an alteration to their "nicknames" or similar that has the effect of removing the privacy block.

Admin? If we've found a bug please fix it?

This is what the site says at the top of your "block list" :

"You can use this page to control exactly who can and cannot get in touch with you. Blocked members cannot message you, wink, invite you as a friend or speak to you in the chatroom."

We think the site needs to tweak this in common with other sites, that if you block somebody it's because you don't want ANYTHING to do with them . . and that means preventing them from viewing, and if they know how to, stealing your public pix and words.

A BLOCK should do just that . . BLOCKED! The only safe alternative to the present BLOCK if you're getting attention from one or more you don't want to see you is to have a rather blank public profile . . surely that isn't what you want is it Admin?

There are unfortunately a lot of things which doesnt apply to blocked users.

I have already reported that when i block someone for a reason, it still shows that profile in local meets for example and in hot pictures.

Surely if i block someone, i do not want to see them appear anywhere else on the site right?

Admin please do something about it.

Like I said, anything I post on my status can be found via an old search (ie 5-10miles from X, females aged 20-30) and I pop up. Same as my pics. When I block someone I don't want them seeing anything I post.

We're not sure it makes sense to change how this works since in approx 2 minutes they could register another account and snoop and you'd never know.

There is no bug. Changing a username does not have the effect you describe.

A while back (maybe 6 months, so a while!) I was able to see the satuses of everyone on our block list.

Not sure how, what I was doing at the time, so whether it was a bug, or a certain set of circumstances, but I do remember it happening.

That doesn't really help does it?!

We as others will know that can be the case but just how many of the brainless "free-loader" profiles that case trolling issues have the IQ to work that out? Only the brightest . . and if an aggrieved party blocks them again then they have it all to do again . . they will give up at some point.

To quote that "persistence from trolls" is a reason not to make the effort isn't on Admin . . listen to your paying customers please . . they want BLOCK to mean BLOCK.

I believe they can still see if you have anything in the meet, events section. They can't see your status anymore, at least I can't see any on my block list.

I don't know about appearing in the new pic section, but what are the chances of them looking on there just as you upload a new pic.

ive had people that are blocked fab my photos from hot photos and i can see their statuses then.

and i got someone to block me and check and if you search for someone of the age and sex of the person that has blocked you

. they show up in searches and you can see enough

All these answers from others are going a long way to explaining why we felt something was wrong with the "BLOCK" system . . they all seem to say just one thing : a Fab BLOCK is as about as useful as a chocolate fire-guard"!

We all know that some users may use the BLOCK feature too flippantly but experienced site members will use it for good reasons, likely for grave concerns over PRIVACY . . and they will have put their trust in YOU Admin . . and we think the consensus is that you're failing them.

Bring your BLOCK into line with other sites please . . BLOCK means BLOCKED!

Well said! And I agree. Admin saying people can make new accounts to get around a block but hey OK some will do that but a lot of people on this site aren't actually a weirdo / stalker types so I can't see the majority bothering with that much effort. Block should be 100 percent blocked! Sort it out Admin.

Yes but your garden variety weirdo wouldn't bother, only someone with a serious issue would do this.. and surely anything is better than nothing when it comes to deterring people from acting like that?

When you upload new photos upload them to private folder, when they are in there then change the setting to public, that way they won't appear in the new photo feed. or am i wrong?

And a Block should also stop being able to view your verification summary, which discloses the last meet too...( on the mobile version)....

What I don't understand is if you block someone say because you don't like how they come across in the forums but you are still able to see their posts...

It kind of defeats the whole purpose of blocking them IMO

that to be fair is across the board with forums..

as things become disjointed.. but you do get a ban if you use the forums to try and get around a ban x
