We often get asked to share face pictures but we are paranoid about being discovered on here. Is it possible to send a photo in a message and then remove it, say the following day?

that option is only available to site supporters and doesn't stop someone saving to there system

As said above, yes it is possible to remove if you are a site supporter. But if you are that worried then remember that any pic on the internet can be saved with a simple screen shot.
