I left a verification for a couple on my Friends list, but it isn't showing.
They do have Not Looking For Single Guys filter activated but surely as I'm a friend, this should circumvent filters?
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean the veri itself or in the verification summary?
The verification itself will not show on their profile until they select it to appear.
The number of verifications on their summary should have increased, if they are showing the summary that is |

If you can message them, you should be able to verify them.
There are other reasons why veris wont go through: have you shared an Internet connection? |
