Does anyone know what the rationale is behind the forums being publicly available to non logged in users is?
OK so profile pictures are pixellated and the first two letters of the username posting is hashed out but still it's a bit dodgy, no? |

You Dont Need to Know, right now |
I don't think it's dodgy, it's just a way for Fab to keep increasing its customer base. Also, a useful way for vanillas who are curious about the lifestyle to find out more about it, before taking the plunge, so to speak.
Hiding pictures and shortening usernames is enough protection of our privacy I think. But if you're worried, just don't post anything in the Forums that you wouldn't say to a bunch of people in the pub. |

I do not see why offering limited access to the forums to non-members is any more intrusive, to be honest. |

profile pics only pixelated if a member has clicked so other search engines cant see profile. it is bad that everything in a forum can be seen by anyone but thats the nature of this site

It's a free site and would only take anybody a moment to sign up and read anyway. Many forums on the net are available for all to see, most stuff you put on the net is its best to be aware of that and bear it in mind when you're posting. |
