How come once a forum thread as apparently closed as it got to full, around the cut off point of approximately 175 posts, can the thread keep going for certain members to continue to post on it and not others like myself? |

I think certain people PM certain mods and ask them to open them again for a short period of time OR the extra poster is a covert mod |

Some people have figured out if they leave the page open they can still post as to them the thread is still open. |

Some people have figured out if they leave the page open they can still post as to them the thread is still open."

Mods can't re open threads even if someone asked them to. Your theory is way out, the explanation from Evie is right. |

I can confirm that once a mod closes it, rather than the computer bot thingy, it stays closed forever.
Even if you're anal enough to try going back to February 2009
