Can the mods or administration please tell me if my details will be deleted from the server upon leaving the fab site please?
I've just watched a friend (single) not married lose his job for being a member of ashley madison. He deleted the account last year. But the leaked document lists him as inactive, this was after him paying $19.99 to get deleted.
His job is in the public eye and this was too much to bear and so he resigned before he was pushed.
I am in a similar position with my job, and I am leaving this place for now. I don't want my details lingering on this server as inactive. I want it deleted. Can anybody confirm that this is the case? |

I thought the answer would be of interest to most people on here.
I'm a bit concerned that there had been no announcement about the Ashley Madison hack. The lack of a reassuring announcement, makes me worry. |

To be honest, if people are going to do something that they might later regret, then it shouldn't have been done to begin with.
The internet is full of pro-hackers these days so no matter how good encryption and security is they will get in if they really want to.
As the saying goes:

Why should Fab be issuing an announcement about Ashley Madison? They don't own it. |

Whatever you do, or go on the internet you leave your digital foot print it will never be fully erased. Maybe your 'friend' should have realised this before joining that site  |

Obviously I can't answer the question like anyone else can, but, what details would anyone see on here anyway? It isn't as if the site asks you for your personal details on sign up....how will anyone know who you are from the name you have on site. |

Ashley madison is a huge site, with very professional webmasters. They were defeated by a bunch of hackers, they stole personal details, phone numbers, credit cards details, photos, and in the last dump they have posted the website source code! There are people who have tabulated all this info 37GBs of it! into a seachable database.
people are putting their friends phone numbers in to see if they are members.
remeber this, these people are not criminals, they have not broken any law by being members of the site. but they did want and expect, and even PAY for discretion.
to all those of you who say that you have nothing to hide.. good for you.
i would say the vast majority of members here would not like every tom dick and harry knowing that they are members here.
i have concerns, and i am asking for them to be heard. that is all.
I think in the aftermath of the the AM hack, an announcement would have been fitting. at the very least i would expect the admin to answer the questions posed.

I think everyone is aware of what has gone on on the AM site...but again, the details the hackers have published are not something that is normally given on this site anyway  |

Taking another view... If they are playing away behind their partners back, they deserve the sh#t that comes from it.
If only the cheats could be removed from this site, it would stop wasting genuine swingers time. It is fabswingers not fabcheaters!!! |

Our close friends already know, i doubt the others would be surprised and it's none of their business anyway.
One of the reasons we decided to tell our close friends was to break down the taboo surrounding swinging. Homosexuality used to be taboo, but eventually brave people coming out started to break down that wall of silence. Hopefully swinging will be accepted in the mainstream in the future.
But AM wasnt necessarily swinging. Although there may have been some on their with permission, I assume most were in relationships. |

How stupid were these people to use their primary email with real name?
With fab you can pay for site supporter by text which could be with a pay as you go phone.
Surely everyone knows how to get an anonymous email account ?

And the people who have paid for premium by credit card making the assumption that the site is secure?
As for us, I've just deleted an account on another adult site we are on plus blown away all pics on here... Not, I might add, due to the AM thing but due to a recent new job and to be more in line with how we use this site (I.e just to see what's on at clubs plus cam fun when we fancy it)

But he didn't lose his job...he gave it up and I can't personally see any employer seeing it as any of their business enough to actually look anyone up on the details that have been released...sounds like he was extremely foolish to act in the way he did to be honest... |

But he didn't lose his job...he gave it up and I can't personally see any employer seeing it as any of their business enough to actually look anyone up on the details that have been released...sounds like he was extremely foolish to act in the way he did to be honest..."

You asked a question late last night and Admin answered it with an announcement 6 hours ago and you are still not happy?  It almost sounds like you were hoping they wouldn't answer so you could complain. |

Not sure how been on AM at some point could lead to losing your job. Politicians, head teachers etc all have affairs and is old news within a week.
After all, AM and other sites like it are just a more modern way of hooking up for an affair or bit on the side.... Its been going on for decades before they came along. Not as if they invented infidelity is it.
