Chat and ubuntu

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I have two laptops, one runnning windows and the other running ubuntu. I can connect to the chatroom on the windows one but not at all on the ubuntu one. The page loads the frames only of the chatroom but nothing else. Anyone has any idea how to solve this problem?
