Quick question:
In the location information on a profile, is the information shown gathered from someone's smartphone, or just simply by the post code info that people put in when they register please?

I think....the local searches is based on the postcode that they have set in their account. The 'Who's Near' is based on their GPS because thats the one that you can switch on and off. I think... |

As I understand it:
There are 2 possible distances given:
The 1st is the distance from their (possibly inaccurate on grounds of anonymity) postcode to your (possibly inaccurate) postcode "Distance:
60+ miles away
(80+ driving)"
The 2nd is only shown if they are on their mobile with Who's Near switched on "Right now:
They are on mobile, 60+ miles away"
I presume this is the distance from their phone's location to your postcode, unless you also have Who's Near on, in which case it would be the distance between the 2 phones. |
