closing threads

I saw a thread on here that I would have liked to answer to, but it was already closed by a moderator... Why is that? There was only one reply. It was regarding photos.

I understand that some people would agree and some people would disagree with the thread, but we should be given a choice to respond if we so wish.

When people post threads, they do it knowing that people will offer criticism. And by posting the thread, they accept this.

Perhaps, the moderator should have waited until other people had had a chance to respond and gauge the response before closing the thread.

Maybe the thread in question needed to be reported to admin so it would be a lot quicker to tell them to contact admin then close it with out countless replys

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Threads are closed for a number of reasons. It has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with the thread.

If a thread is about something that needs to be reported to Admin, then Admin instruct us to close the thread once we have given the correct advice about dealing with it on the site, rather than leave it for people to discuss and throw their own interpretation on it.

If we are closing threads for other reasons then we usually say why in the final post.

Burnley

I did not get an adequate reason for the thread to be closed. And after reading a lot of other threads I was very disappointed with the moderator for closing it.

Admin also close threads I should add.

If you think a forum moderator has made a mistake then Admin ask that you contact them directly using the CONTACT link at the bottom of the page rather than discuss it in the forums.
