Do you, or does your phone, automatically put a space after every word you type. If you or your phone does this after a username then it wouldn't find the name in a search as it counts the space as a character in the username. |

I think also her age preference may stop her coming up in a search you do, in other words if you are outside her age range, she won't come up in a basic search. The way to check other than ask her, is to click on your own profile, in the top bar where it has the www bit, replace your name with hers and click return |

"Think ( Mucky 1 ) could be right about her privacy settings , will find out from horses mouth when I next catch up with her . Cheers all for reply
No. That means external searches only "
No it's internal.... I've done it and no body can find me in a search |

I just searched your username, and your profile came straight up. The search feature os for external searches not internal.
As for why you can't find her, are you spelling the name exactly right? So including any _ or - symbols too? If she's on your friends list though then not sure why it matters? |

My profile isn't hidden at the moment, however you are correct with the external search as I've just checked the privacy tab, so my apologies
However I do recall a few years ago that I did click on a 'hide your search' tab and no one could find my profile, so that must of either been removed or ammended |

"Only people who have logged on recently come up in searches - it's so you're not messaging those who are away or not using the site right now/ever again. "
Since when?
Last time I bothered doing a search within the first page I had profiles listed that had not logged in 'in over a year' but veri's showed that to be more than 5 years |

"just done a quick search and yes, still listing profiles not logged into for over a year. " As far as I can see, the search will attempt to find up to a page full of those who satisfy your search. If it's a popular search you'll only have those who've been logged in within the last few hours, a less popular search could have much less recent log ins.
However, while having a look just now, there was a profile listed in the search as "last login: over a year ago", but clicking on the profile showed "Last login: 1 month ago". Admin, I can provide the search criteria and profile name. |
