There's a long box so you can write your message at the top above the actual chat

It won't show for you because you cannot pm,poke or block yourself.

If using a desktop. To the right of the screen there is a drop down box.

Allow all, friends only and no one are the options for pms and pokes.

Mobile version of the site you cannot pm or poke.
