Granny, if you want to volunteer as a mod, use the 'contact' list at the bottom of each page of Fab, and put your name forward to Admin.
Make sure to say what kind of mod you're volunteering for (i.e. I'm a chat mod, because I like to chat, but no way would I volunteer as a picture mod, because I really don't like looking at dirdy pictures!)
Also, it's probably helpful if you can say what times of day you're available for modding duties, so that Admin can try to ensure they have as much of the day covered as possible.
Finally, be patient! You will probably get an immediate auto-response from Admin, but it may be a few weeks (or maybe even months) before Admin get back in touch with you. The reason is that training new moderators takes up quite a lot of Admin's time, so they only have 1 or 2 new mods 'in training' at any one time.
