Pictures shared on DM aren't visible to those I message

I have a few face pictures set to private.
I regularly share them with people I DM on Fab. Unfortunately, they can't see the pictures. What am I doing wrong?
Surely I don't have to set them to public just to share them on my chats. |

I have sent private pics in messages in the past with no problems. |
