Photos of others on single profiles
Jump to: Newest in thread
Prompted by this issue being commented on within another thread, I am asking why fab allows pics on single profiles of other people (often women) when you have no way of being certain that there is consent for this?
Especially when the recent revenge porn laws are taken into consideration?
Personally I would prefer if single profiles weren’t allowed to do so and I don’t think I am the only person that feels this way.
I’ve blocked a lot of people because I’ve seen this on their single profiles, when asked they claim usually that it’s an ex, they had consent to take the pic etc but I very much doubt that the other person has consented to those pics being posted here.
Fab admins what’s the situation here? |

They are from meets which the other will have some of them
If it's an ex and not a user of the site it's goes against the site as they have to be |

My point is unless fab admins are able to confirm that there is specific consent for the pics AND for them to be used on that single persons profile that’s unacceptable and potentially illegal. |

If I'm in it it's just as much mine as it is theirs regardless if I'm on a single profile or couple. No picture is ever taken or posted without consent so to assume the opposite is on the viewer s mindset rather than go think everybody is so smutty..
Agreed fab rules say if anyone else is in the picture their faces are to be blurred or blocked out so again if those are uploaded then that's fabs algorithms for not removing it if it's not blurred by the uploader.
As far as pics who've I've been with if he wants to have an unidentified fuck or dick pic removed I will. |

Personally, I really dislike when there’s photos of other people shared on profiles and often wonder how long ago the photos may have been taken and if those people are aware that their images are visible.
Also, if the other people in the photos are all supposed to be site users, wouldn’t it be a good idea for them to be sent an approval request before the photo is posted, a bit like when a photo is approved by admin or you would get a tag request on fbook? |

Under current legislation consent cannot be assumed by someone posting such pics.
Pics posted on fab are approved by people not bots as far as I am aware on here (albeit voluntary mods which is a whole other discussion)
Faces are not the only identifiable part a person may have, tattoos, hair, scars, birthmarks can all identify someone, indeed this was how I was able to prove some pics of mine that were nabbed and posted on someones profile I’d never even MET last year were mine and not theirs.
I think fab has to be more circumspect on this with the legislation now especially.
It’s not acceptable to allow pics to be posted where consent of everyone in them has not been confirmed. |

I think that’s the least that should happen.
Sooo many times when I’ve asked guys about this they’ve said it’s their ex in the pics! I’d bet good money their ex has NO idea their images are on here and likely would not want them to be! |

Yeah I totally agree. I suspect it will be very common I know there’s several of my exs that have photos of me and I have no idea who they’ll have been shared with. They could already be shared somewhere on here for all I know! but it would be reassuring to know that any photos including others couldn’t be shared without consent. |

Think it could be a good idea if it were possible to report pics too I just checked on that and can’t do it at the moment. |

Again, agreed. There only seems to be the option to Fab the pic but definitely should have the option to report too |

There is the option to report a picture on the desktop version of the site.
Not sure about the mobile version as I don't use it much. |

Others in your photo OK so long as faces are obscured and you have permission. You can have other people in your photos too (to clarify, you must also be in the photo) so long as you have their permission to upload to your account on here AND their faces are obscured (face pixellated or blacked out; just blacking out the eyes is NOT ok). |

If you think someone doesn't have permission to upload a pic the best thing to do is report it. You can do this from the pic itself or the profile mentioning which pic it is |
