Does the hotlist remove or filter profiles after some time?

I have quite a few site members added to my hotlist. But I have noticed that some members who I know I have added to my hotlist, whose updates appear in the Updates section and are online, do not appear anywhere in my hotlist as being online. Does the hotlist filter people out if they are not looked at after some time period? If I delete them from hotlist and re-add them again, they suddenly appear in the hotlist. What is going on?

Did they leave the site and rejoin with the same profile name?

No; they have just dropped out of my hotlist when I view it. Their profiles still show the ‘added to hotlist’ indication.

I think it's like messages and block lists they are still there just fell off the bottom so to speak if u delete newer ones the older ones appear again

That's strange obviously only so many updates will fit in your update section, but if you look at your actual hotlist they should still be there.

I think there is a limit to how many you can have on your hotlist so it doesn't always show them , which can frustrating. If you delete some you will see some pop back on
