New User Unable To Use Site Until They Send Verification Photo - Why?
Jump to: Newest in thread
A new user who has been on site for less than 2 days is unable to do anything on site apart from delete her account or provide photo verification.
Could someone explain why this has happened?
Doesnt seem sensible to me - I have been here years and not had to verify.
Thank you,

Hi
I can't explain the specific case, I have seen photo verification required when profiles are created in the past.
Presumably related to something that can be processed automatically, like signing up, deleting profile then signing up again, reusing an email address or signing up from a suspicious IP address.
Maybe admin can explain

I have a driving license with no photo but now a photo is a requirement. Rules change over time. |

There are other new users here that have been on longer without photo verification. |

They have been here longer, perhaps the rules changed in between those times. Then again what's the problem with just getting verified?
Write name and website on paper, hold it up with hands showing and smile for the birdy. Nobody gets to see the picture unless you want them to and it can be used to verify other photos to ensure that it is the user in them. |

The photo veri pic is private. Unless of course one was to upload it as a normal picture upload as well.
I do believe it is random. Not everyone is asked to photo verify.
I personally don't see a problem with it. It's easy enough to do if needs be. |

The right to privacy is the issue. If you dont want to verify yourself you should not be forced to, which is what the site is trying to do.
Showing a face for this person is not going to prove anything has to whether the profile belongs to that person.
Neither will showing a naked body. |

It isn't just the picture it is the username and website in the photo with hands showing that is used to verify the account holder.
Nobody has to verify themself, it does make life easier to meet other users and they can always go elsewhere.
What privacy is being invaded? |

Some new profiles are required to photo veri before their profile becomes live. 9nce they have done so they should be fine to use the site. |
