Blocked or deleted?

Ok, I’ve completely forgotten in the couple of years I’d been away but I can’t remember if the message when you’ve been blocked and the message when someone deletes their profile is the same.

Got a message this morning from a chap, with face pics. Answered. Got another message back. Went to answer that one and got a ‘user has deleted their profile’ message.

Fair enough, it happens and it’s water off a duck’s back to me - however, usually when someone deletes their profile, I can still see messages etc and instead of their name it just says ‘user no longer on site’ with a silhouette, whereas he has vanished out of my inbox and sent messages entirely. No longer on ‘looked at me’ etc. He’s completely disappeared.

So, have I actually been blocked? (I vaguely remember that being a very different message, though) If so, it’s probably because he’s realised he knows me and I’d be DYING to know where from

PS: this is taking my procrastination to the next level

If you're blocked the messages would still be there, you just wouldn't be able to reply and it would tell you you're blocked.

Looks like the profile has been deleted as the messages dissappear then

That is weird. We've experienced it where messages remain if their account has closed or been deleted. If we go into their profile and see that they have been deleted then returning to the inbox removes the messages. As mentioned though, if we are blocked by a user then we get a notification if we attempt to respond. Generally if you haven't been on the site in a while, check the profiles first of all to save yourself the hassel. x
