Updates page quick menu

I've noticed that on some peoples phones, when they go to Updates, they have a quick menu at the top allowing them to add a photo, video, meet and update a status.

For myself I have to go to the Home page and find the options amongst the grid.

Why is there a difference?

I'm on Android and using Chrome, and I'm sure my friends were also on Android... but I'm unsure of which browser.

I have have the menu on updates. Im also on an android and use chrome. Not much help but..

No, that is helpfull as it rules out platform and browser.
