Is there somewhere on the site a list of banned words? This would be very helpful to know and may stop surprise message or forum bans from happening.

Apparently not and there are no plans to list them of what I've read. Really it's down to common sense in many ways..

I understand that most of it is common sense or should be atleast, but from what i have seen on the forums some words that people star out seem a little silly, having worked in IT over the years I have spent time with word lists for email spam filtering and such so know that it can indeed be quite a list, it just seems that for an adults only site such as this the list should be a little different

There are some words that can be used in the forum and can also be included in profile bios, but use them in a message you receive a ban.

Exactly this it would make life so much easier for users if there was a list somewhere within the site rules, also that way it proves that you have atleast looked at the rules

Don't think will be a list either and I don't think people need one.im sure it would notify the person about the message they are about to send that from that understand something isn't right and rewrite something but forcing the message while being notified the ban is working...

.......

Admin won't publish a list of banned words for messages as it would allow users to think of ways to get around said banned words/phrases.

The message you get when you have sent something wrong should give you an idea of what was wrong.

You don't get a forum ban for blocked words, they are normally blocked in mails

The message doesn't tell you what it objected to. If you guess wrong and resend - message ban...

Agree but its also down to which volunteer administration type person is working that day as they are the ones to make the decision and its clear they have no clue or Consistency as I called someone an idiot, got banned (quite rightiy) yet someone in same thread called me a dick, to be fair I was being that day but they didn't get banned.

The OP is talking about blocked words, not someone abusing another on the forum which is obviously not allowed.

Talking about bans or moderation is also not allowed, if you have feedback about a ban or moderation it is best to send it to Admin instead or you could end up with another ban
