Hi guys,
On our privacy settings we have switched off the section where it says
“ Show profile to non-registered users: You can choose to have your profile page hidden from anyone who isn't a member (also hides it from search engines”
But non registered profiles are still looking at us?
Any help would be great |

If a profile shows that they have looked at you, they are registered with Fab. If I'm correct, non registered means you don't show on search engines outside of Fab. |

"I thought it meant only people who are paid members can see us in a search? "
No, anyone who is a member of the site, whether they are site supporters or not, can view your profile unless you hide it. However, you can set a message filter to stop non-site supporters contacting you.
Hiding your profile from non-registered people means that only members can see it, not random people on the internet. |

Thank you for your message and information.
There is a separate section to stop your profile coming up in a search engine as well tho? |

This?
Search engines: You can choose not to have your profile listed on search engines like google. If you opt out, your profile may take a couple of weeks to disappear from search: We have no control over this.
Allow my profile to be listed on search engines (no, hidden) list |

Ok, having checked I see what you mean:
“Show profile to non-registered users: You can choose to have your profile page hidden from anyone who isn't a member (also hides it from search engines).
Search engines: You can choose not to have your profile listed on search engines like google. If you opt out, your profile may take a couple of weeks to disappear from search: We have no control over this.”
So the first one means your profile can’t be viewed if someone clicks on it from a forum post or a direct link, and you also can’t be searched for on a search engine. The second one just hides you from search engines but your profile could still be viewed by unregistered people if they have a link.

What it means by 'non-registered user' is someone who doesn't have a Fab profile.
Basically anyone with the Internet can view the wording on your profile, not your pics, unless you tick this privacy setting. Your profile will be searchable via Google etc and they can read the wording, where you are located and your veris.
If you apply this privacy setting only registered members of Fab can view your profile.
Also the forums and anything written on them can be read by non-Fab people. |
