I had never heard of the first word and it didn't help there was an anagram of it I tried first
There was a 50/50 guess for the first letter of the one I got in 5 and I guessed wrong
The one I got in 7 had three options for first letter and I guessed the wrong two first

4 for me also Sally and it took me 25 minutes when I had three letters. Difficult and surprised I got it in 4 to be honest. |

Yes, but I didn't actually guess the word. I went through the possible combinations until it was correct. Even after putting the letters in place, it didn't look right until it changed to green! Then I felt like an idiot for not getting it sooner...  |

Yes, but thankfully I had the first 2 letters right in my third guess and had gotten rid of (all or at least all but 1) other vowels. |

I had 2nd, 4th and 5th correct on my second go. It's a combination where there are lots of different words possible so it's a bit of a lottery. Whereas yesterday there wasn't such variety possible. |

Yeah, there are a few times where it comes down to just guessing which equally valid word is correct, it's always 4 or more for me in those cases. |

I haven't repeated the experiment but I'm relying on 3Blue1Brown's code - the algorithm computed SALET as having the least entropy.

Just different order. My brother in law guessed 'suite' as that's his 'go to' word. It didn't help him. He still took 8 to guess despite having a '1' there. |

I generally blast the same 3 off without thinking or looking up (I'll sometimes peak at 2 if the board lights up) then really the game begins and I try to get a 4,5,6,7.
As I said if you are lucky and get a 1 or 2 I don't know if it is a help or hindrance. |
