We visited cap last year and had a great time, planning a return next summer. I’m wondering if there are any alternatives in France or Europe or do they all pale in comparison once you’ve been to Cap ?? Any advice welcome . |

Cap d’Agde, France |
The Cap is unique in the variety of experience it offers, we are not aware of anywhere of similar size.
There are a number of swinger/naturist campsites in France such as La Roseraie near Vichy or Terre de Soleil near the Cap and these do offer some alternative experiences.
As Cap residents we take our swinger vacation in Gran Canaria during the winter.
In Maspalamos/Playa del Ingles there are six swing clubs plus bars plus 2 small swinger resorts and for us we find this to be a good alternative to the Cap particularly during the quiet winter months. |

That pretty much sums up the whole of Europe really.
Some seem to think that there are lots of other swinger resorts dotted around Europe. There are none.
Other than a few places with a handful of swinger clubs and a naturist beach nearby (PDI being the most famous) there is nothing else, and certainly nothing that is even comparable to Cap (let alone comes close)
To put it another way. If Cap is Man City or Real Madrid then the next best (PDI) is mid table league 1 or 2 and the 3rd place would be the Red Lion pub team in your local Sunday league. |

Actually, we think that PDI is a little bit better than mid table, perhaps something more like Man U. or Everton. We've always had great experiences there, met loads of good friends and the advantage over the Cap is that English is the main language of communication for swingers there from all over Europe. |

Fair point about the language but for almost everything else it is way behind Cap.
Beach? Although the dunes can be fun there is no other beach in the world like Cap. So 3 points to Cap.
Clubs? OK to be fair PDI has got one or two decent ones (2x2 being our favourite there) but there is nothing to compare with Glamour or Tantra, albeit at a price (more about that later) Another 3 points to Cap but maybe after extra time.
Bars? While there are a couple of swinger friendly bars in PDI there is nothing to compare with say the Melrose, Bodega bar (where else can you get your kit off at midnight and jump in the pool?) or Le Piloterie or Le Palm Re for people watching. Another easy 3 points for Cap.
Sex Sauna's? There are none in PDI so Cap wins by just playing the 2nd team. Another 3 points.
Ditto foam and pool parties. 3 more points
General atmosphere? Although Cap is starting to see more textile people it still has the naked village atmosphere, and you would never see the outfits paraded in Cap anywhere else. Easy 3 points.
Length of season? This is where PDI can catch up a little. The Cap season is very short and PDI has the whole winter. 3 points to PDI.
Price? Another area where PDI scores well. Cap is just getting way to expensive now, so another 3 to PDI.
Total Cap 18 PDI 6. |

So the Cap is 3 times better than PDI, that's about right! but then PDI is probably 5 times better than anywhere else in Europe that we've been too.
We like PDI, we always spend a fortnight or so in La Mirage and there's also Venus Star, both places a little like Jardin d'Eden or Babylon but at a fraction of the price and without all the posers.
As first stated, the Cap is unique but PDI is probably the next best thing. |

In the context of the discussion of the present topic, where does Hedonism || resort in Jamaica & Fantasy Fest(ival) at Key West, Florida stand in comparison with PDI & Cap?
Has anyone been to those places and got any experience/opinion/review to share? |

We've had the Cap experience for around 20 years and know it well.
On paper, there's nowhere else that has the breadth of opportunities when it comes to choice of playing styles.
We love the Barca 'high pressing and probing' but the there's something to be said for the 'long ball and big guy upfront' Allardyce style.
There's certainly a place for Sven's 'frequent change of line-up' as it's always popular with the ladies.
Capello's notion of 'I don't know which guy is best, so I'll try them all' is certainly a winner and even McClaren's umbrella is useful when it comes to water sports.
Southampton's idea of 'let's use lots of youngsters' is on the list of many mature ladies and Chelsea's tactic of frequently having 'a different guy at the top' is often used.
Many clubs have a history of 'going down and coming back up' which is quite tiring for the players but gains a few fans.
The 'Fair Play' principle stops the big guys from getting too big allegedly, but doesn't help the little guy get any bigger.
So that's our take on it.
Ps. Having just read back over some of the original postings, I think I may have got the wrong idea about the purpose of this thread. I think I may even be on the wrong website. |
