Cap d'Agde airport transfers

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

We are pretty sure that there are a few couples on here who do airport transfers from Bezier to Cap d'Agde Naturist Village.

If any of you see this, could you contact us please?

Regards.

We've got nothing against people who offer their services for this.

But be aware that they will possibly be uninsured for business use and I know the Police were stopping Brits at the airport a year or two ago.

The local taxis were jotting registration numbers of regular cars suspected of "taking their business" and passed them on to the authorities.

Like I said, not trying to pee on someone's sideline, just highlighting potential problems.

In the worst case scenario should you not have the correct insurance cover you could end up with a very expensive court case and possibly bankruptcy.

If a passenger was seriously injured telling the insurance company that they were simply friends being picked up from the airport is not going to be their number 1 priority. In any event most people would find that their cover story would soon crumble if under detailed investigation by an insurance company.

An unauthorised taxi operator in Cap was jailed a few years. As visits to the airport were captured on camera he could not use the defence of picking up friends.

It the people running these taxi services have full insurance cover then they have nothing to worry about if local taxi drivers have reported them.

Is the French equivalent of an MOT more rigorous for a taxi than a car ?

Yes a CT for a Taxi is indeed more rigorous than for a car.

Alternatively if you want to slum it there is a decent bus service. Shuttle bus from Beziers airport meets each flight and takes you to Agde Station for €1.60 and then it's the number 4 bus to the site for €1. It's easy.

Obviously you will need to check if you have a late/early flight.

Thank you.

How long does it take from the airport to the village?

Just so we know about collecting the keys.

We used an official taxi to Agde station once. Felt totally safe (not) as he drove whilst using his mobile phone and writing in his notebook the pick up time for the lady on the TGV from Paris.

We're fortunate that when we fly in we usually have friends there who can pick us up.

There seems to be a decent supply of taxis at the airport these days and if you arrive in daytime the bus is a good cheap option.

It’s 40€ airport to village and takes about 20-25 minutes in a taxi . To be honest if that’s a problem you’re never going to afford Cap d agde......

We know two Brits who do this as a sideline. One should not even be driving due to his health.

Both charge €35 each way.

Despite the obvious dangers of local taxi drivers, we still think it's the best option.

A more sensible comment and a point well made rather than questioning our finances.

To be honest, we enjoy getting the 2 buses when we arrive, including a leisurely coffee outside the café opposite the station.

Tend to get a taxi for our return, worried buses maybe hit and miss outside village.

Having said that, last year a couple were having a breakdown outside the village gates as their taxi was a no show and they had a flight to catch.

Google "Airport transfers Beziers" to get the number of A2A taxis. Slightly tricky website but you can pre book and pre pay with PayPal. Worked faultlessly for us in both directions for our recent visit. Spotless vehicles and great drivers. 40 euros each way.

This

The buses are clean and cheap, comfortable - more like our coaches than buses.

The bus leaves the airport half an hour after the flight arrives, plenty of time to catch it, luggage takes five minutes.

As another poster said, check times if you're not flying in the main daytime, the bus to the village from Agde is every hour, I can't remember what time it ends.

Also the bus is so cheap try to have change, if everyone gets on with a €20 the driver can sigh a little...

Enjoy

Mrs

The last bus is 21 30 during the peak season . The timetables are downloadable . I am not sure if I am allowed to post a link to the timetables

really? We go 3 times a year and Nearley always use the Bus. After all we just got off a shifty plane with not enough room for a child never mind adult! What a snobby comment. We watch people sip one drink all night but pretend to be well off.

We are with you on that guys.

Those ones that make the twat comments are the ones who save all year for their two weeks there.

Fair does to them but we don't have to do that......

We wouldn't usual make cocky comments but when idiots start it...

Like them.

You were probably watching the couple who made the comment.

Let's be honest REAL decent and wealthy people wouldn't make such stupid comments.

We pity them really. Sad.....

I think we were the ones who mentioned the alternative of a €2 bus journey. It's easy, cheap and unless you are in a real rush will save you €70 on a round trip, which is a sum not to be sniffed at.

Cap is expensive but so is France, except when it comes to public transport. To us €70 equates to about 30 glasses of wine in the Bodega (yes, it is €2 a glass) and I would rather spent my money on that whilst watching Lady H dance than spend it on a taxi journey but everyone is different.

Well said.

We think of the old saying.

A fool and his money are easily parted.
