We are planning our first trip this July . We will be camping for the first 5 days and then looking to stay in the main area for a bit more comfort and partying for the next 5 days and are trying to decide whether it will be best to stay in one of the centre's hotels (eg jardin d'eden) or whether an apartment would be better? If you stay in an apartment, is the only place to hang out during the day the beach? Any advice, recommendations, pointers to guides etc would be gratefully received...x |

If you book an apartment with AGN you get free entry to the pool at waiki. There is also a pool at kama sutra and at Bodega bar. Between the pool, shops, cafe, foam parties and beach we have never been short of things to do in the daytime.
Guess it might be a bit late to be able to book anything for peak season now?
We are there at the same time as you - not long now! |

Hotel or Apartment?
To be honest we have never stayed in any of the hotels/swinger complexes there, we never really thought it necessary.
Why pay a fortune for just a hotel room when an apartment with all the extra facilities comes in at around half the price? Besides, what else other than sleeping will you do there? OK I know the other thing but even that is easier in an apartment.
Over the years have had quite a few different apartments in Heliopolis, Port Nature 4,5, and 8, and this year will be our second time in Port Ambonne.
As said above there is much more than the beach for the daytime. Foam and pool parties, Kamasutra Spa, The port Ambonne sauna's, chill around the pool in Port Ambonne (it's free if you are using the bars around it) or just park yourself in Le Pilouterie or 1664 and watch the (naked) world go by
The Cap experience is all about being outside your accommodation not tucked away inside it. |

In the 10 years we have been going we have stayed either at Eden or Babylone.
Where the standard of accommodation can be variable, we know what we will get. Yes it’s 3* at best but clean, reasonably comfortable and secure. The air con works. We change the bedding daily.. yes unless you pay cleaning is extra but fresh sheets are freely available! Babylone is, we find, the better of the two; a combination of friendly staff and the mix of clientele but of course it varies.
July will be busy so you may find your choices limited. |
