Looking to book France or Italy soon, undecided where still, but will be for a week from 19th January to 2nd February.
Have only done North America for last 12 years, so returning to Europe on the slopes will be interesting. |

"We will be in Montgenevre for most of the season, maybe the odd day or two in one or two other resorts if we need change of scenery "
Did a season in Montgenevre about 16 year ago. Had some good nights in Le Graal. Sestrière resort isn't too far away either, for a day out. |

Anywhere high which avoriaz is but much of the ski area isnt, les gets had snow a couple of weeks ago but it had gone again when I last looked at the web cams, morzine in the middle is great as its an easy transfer and easy to bus from the different parts of the resort and is a lovely place to stay but val thorens is great too and is already open as is val d'isere but its pretty dear there. VT as part of the three valleys has a huge ski area but its not the prettiest place in the world |

What is VT like as a resort? I’ve not been skiing in France before, I’ve heard it can be expensive most places. |

"Morzine snow report? looks sparse at the moment, anyone there now? we arrive in a couple of weeks "
Looked on the web cam earlier and most of the snow on the resort runs has gone by the look of it, still you can easily get up to avoriaz and the snow will be fine up there |

Not as bad as some french resorts and who cares to be honest the scenery and skiing make up for how shit some of the 70's design is |

I’m currently in the resort of St Jean du’Alps which is 10mins from the main resort of Morzine.
In our resort we have a couple of greens, a blue and a red open and they are managing the snow quite well to keep the ski schools open and the red and blue for the more confident skiers.
les Gets and Morzine have all the lower pistes closed as no snow and everyone is heading up to Avoriaz which once again like 2yrs ago making it very busy..
No snow in sight for a couple of weeks but head back to the UK tomorrow and hopefully another trip out towards end of Feb.
Fingers crossed for earlier snow for those headingbout in next few weeks |

Morzine:
First day on slopes, headed over to Swiss side of Avoriaz & Les Crosets. Honestly, the pistes are ace!! Once you come through the clouds, a whole new world beckons.
The pistes are are a bit packed, but nowt major. Not too busy either.
Snow fall due tomorrow, for a few days, so lets see |

I am going to be in the French Alps from 23rd Mar for a week, and will be on my own. Any like minded couples or ladies going to be there? I have not booked a particular resort yet. I am leaving it very late, but this is a last minute thing. Maybe I will be near your hotel / Chalet? I would love some company - just a drink first, or maybe more?
