All the beach buildings and terraces like Mississippi, Horizon, Johnnies are removed in the winter.
In theory they should all be back up by the end of April.
Most were last sunday and Horizon and Mississippi were both open for business.
Nothing has yet been re-constructed down at Paralia but the storms do seem to have changed the shape of the beach down in the 'Bai des Cochons', a top layer of sand has been washed out revealing very old timbers jutting out, there's lots of debris and rotting mussels and the beach, on Sunday, certainly seemed narrower than in the last few years. |

We'll just have to squeeze the towels even closer together then.  |

Beaches eventually recover but it can take time.
The small cove that we use in Spain was completely wiped out by storms just over a year ago. The waves were crashing up on the rocks and there wasn't a grain of sand to be seen for a good while.
It took about six months for it to be (just) usable again and it is now back to its old self. |
