France is three times the size of the UK with the population being only slightly bigger.
But the vast majority live in the big cities, so the countryside where we live seems deserted by UK standards.
The big difference is that at any one time, most of France seems to be at home instead of on the road...! |

We have recently bought a house about 45 minutes drive north of Limoges, beautiful countryside and peace and quiet. It meets our criteria of being able to walk out of the back door naked without disturbing the neighbours but not ready for visitors yet. Will be spending as much time as possible out there while work commitments keep us in the UK but the long term plan is to move out there as soon as possible. Always happy to meet any other fabbers who are out there! |

I am in that side of the country and often stay in hotels in Reims, Troyes and Dijon.
